My wife and I ate at Morton’s Steakhouse at the Caribe Hilton over Memorial Day 2011. It was an awesome meal, and the staff provided excellent service. We both had filets, and they were tender and juicy. The steak practically melted in my mouth! They offer an excellent array of side dishes and desserts. The staff at the restaurant where very knowledgeable about their menu, and they were able to answer all of our questions. It was a great experience, and I will definitely eat there again if I’m back in San Juan.

Sofia’s Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar - Great Place, Great Food!
My wife and I ate at Sofia’s over Memorial Day Weekend 2011. It is a short ride from Caribe Hilton to Old San Juan where you will find an abundance of restaurants. My wife and I walked both sides of the area and decided that Sofia’s had the best looking menu. I’m glad we picked it. The restaurant is slender and cozy. It has a small bar in the front with a dining area behind it. The wait staff was superb. They were extremely friendly and very helpful selecting or tailoring a dish. We had drinks, and we both had pasta. Both dishes were excellent. This dinner was one of my favorites on the trip. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in San Juan or at the Caribe Hilton.

Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante - Great Place to dine outside in Maui!
Ferraro’s is located at the Four Seasons resort on Maui. It’s an easy walk from the Grand Wailea to the restaurant, but we did learn later that it is much short if you take the path along the beach. This was probably one of our favorite meals while in Maui. The food and service were excellent. They also have a teenager menu and a children’s menu, so the whole family can enjoy. This restaurant is an outside restaurant, so you want to go before it gets dark. We got there a little late, and we ate our food in darkness. However, our wait staff did have flashlights for us to read the menu! Very nice place!!!
Sarentos on the Beach
My family and I ate at Sarento’s on the beach while vacationing in Maui. It was one of the best meals and views I had while on the island. We sat at a table overlooking the ocean, and the sunset was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, and they had an overwhelming menu. They did not have a lot of items for kids or teenagers, but they will do their best to make a custom dish to feed any teenager. We are not big wine drinkers. However, they have a huge wine selection in the restaurant. This experience is a “must do” when visiting Maui.
Caribe Hilton San Juan, PR
My wife and I traveled to San Juan for Memorial Day 2011, and we had a great time at Hilton Caribe. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We love the private beach and the pools. I do think the drinks are expensive, so be sure to hit the package store across the street. It's a cheap ride from the airport to the hotel, so no worries about transportation. It's also very close to Old San Juan if you want to visit. There are several nice restaurants on the property including a Morton's Steakhouse and an Italian restaurant. We ate in both and found the food and service to be excellent.

Grand Wailea - The best vacation of my life!
The Grand Wailea is by far the best vacation I have ever had. My family and I visited Maui in July, 2011, and I was amazed by the property. It has an elegant open atmosphere in the hotel. The lobby area is open, and the warm island breezes fill the property. Our room overlooked the property with an ocean view. We had amazing sunsets from our balcony every day. I would normally grab a cup of coffee for breakfast at Café Kula. It is like the mini-mart on the resort carrying grocery items as well as having a small grill and a Starbucks. My wife preferred the full buffet breakfast at the Grand Dining Room overlooking the ocean and pool area. It’s a great place to eat breakfast and start your day with a scenic view!
We spent a lot of our time in the pool area. We definitely liked that there are plenty of pools for families in addition to an eighteen and over pool. The family area has a couple waterslides, a water elevator, and a swim-up bar. If you want a chair under an umbrella, you’ll have to arrive at 7AM to get your spot. They fill up quickly, but you can rent a cabana if you wish to spend the money. The pool area is overwhelming, and it includes two the Bistro Molokini and Volcano restaurants. Both serve a variety of food and drinks, and I think I enjoyed everything I ate. The resort has its own beach where you can lay under an umbrella. I would also recommend the free scuba class for your kids. If you choose to scuba in the ocean, there is a charge, but my step-daughter had a blast.
Humuhumunukunukuapua’a is the signature restaurant on the property. It is overlooking the scenic ocean sunsets, and the entire restaurant is built over a lagoon with all types of marine life. It was one of the highlights of our stay.
Overall, this is the best resort that I have ever stayed at. The Grand Wailea staff spares nothing to make your stay a life-long memory.
Fred's Mexican Cafe Kihei, HI (Maui)
My family and I ate at Fred’s Mexican café on our first night in Maui. It is conveniently located near the Grand Wailea, Marriott, and Four Seasons in Kihei, HI. I thought the food was excellent, and it was one of the cheaper meals that we had while in Maui. The service was good for being on island time. As you probably know, service is a little more laid back in Maui. They have a great selection of food and drinks, and I highly recommend it.
